"At the first light of dawn, the king got up and hurried to the lions' den. When he came near the den, he called to Daniel in an anguished voice, "Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to rescue you from the lions?"

Daniel answered, "O king, live forever! My God sent his angel, and he shut the mouths of the lions. They have not hurt me, because I was found innocent in his sight. Nor have I ever done any wrong before you, O king."

The king was overjoyed and gave orders to lift Daniel out of the den. And when Daniel was lifted from the den, no wound was found on him, because he had trusted in his God."

It seems that in the places we live in there are always 'lions' wanting to destroy us. We go to work; there goes that person that always ruins your day. We go to school and within the first five minutes you already see the open mouths of your 'lions'. Even at home! It's like they feel it's their calling to make your life miserable. Well I say call on the name of Jesus and he will shut the mouths of your enemies! Don't let those who seek to bring you down steal your joy!

When somebody irritates us, the first decision we should make is "I am not going to get upset, I'm not going to loose my joy, because I have the power to stay in peace!" That's what the Scripture says; "... no one will take away your joy." (John 16:22) That means no person can make you unhappy. No circumstance can force you to be upset. It's totally up to you! You have complete control of how peaceful and how happy you want to live. And one of the keys to enjoying life is you have to take responsibility for your own happiness. You can come up with so many excuses: "I'd be happy if my spouse would treat me better." "I'd be happy if I didn't have to work around so many negative people." or "If I didn't have these problems, these challenges, then I wouldn't be so stressed out." No, you can be happy right where you are! No matter how difficult the situation or how unfair the circumstances are, God said he would never let you go through more than you can bear, and he has armed you to with the strength for every battle! You can have joy in the midst of that adversity if you'll simply have the right approach.

Jesus put it this way in John 14:27 "Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed." Notice, it's a decision we have to make.
