85 and hot here again today! And the bad thing is, I have no shade in the front yard where I sit yet, because the black walnut trees are the last to get their leaves!
My neighbors lilacs have bloomed and smell so good! I think I'll go over and cut me some. He is a man after all, and what does a man need with flowers? :lol: Honestly, he wouldn't care if I did, but I'd never do it without asking. I'll just go over and sniff!

I have one! First, open the pack. Pour into bowl and add milk or water, (and sugar, even though the directions don't call for it, because I like sweet cornbread), mix it up, put it in pan, bake it like the directions on the pack say. :biggrin:

It was thunder storming last night which I thought was strange since it wasn't all that warm and I always associate thunder storms with slightly warmer weather.
The stupid thunder was so loud I was up from like 3-5am lying in my bed, asking God to please quiet the thunder :hh
And it looks like the weather is going to turn for the worse. It's actually going to snow again next week!!! I'm about ready to hitchhike out here! :hh

:hg It is gonna be an absolutely beautiful warm day, here in Northwestern PA, sun, and heat up to 76, and tomorrow also gonna be great, but next week we are gonna be in the 40's with rain, so I am gonna enjoy the days of warmth and sun while I can....Gets pretty cold at night, down into the 40's upper 30's, but warms up by 10 AM....
Isn't it crazy how the weather changes so quickly?

Where I live .. right now Denmark .. I very strange weather, very different from what I was used until one year ago. A lot of rain and when it is a fine weather, it is not for a very long time.
Usual temperature, in the spring time, from what I have seen now is 10C and sometimes reaches 15C.

this morning it was 41 degrees. That was supposed to be the coldest morning for May 23rd, since 1978.

Well, that is kinda how it does here. Week before last, it was 40 in the mornings, and only in the 50's in the day and rainy. Then, last week it got back up to the 80's every day, close to 90 most. :)

Northern Minnesota placed under tornado watch

St. Paul, Minn. — The National Weather Service has placed Northern Minnesota under a tornado watch until 4 p.m.
Residents in northern counties along a line from Hinckley to Brainerd to Moorhead should remain vigilant of changing weather conditions.
A tornado watch means conditions are favorable to tornadoes and severe thunderstorms.
The Weather Service says storms developing in the region could produce tornadoes, hail to 2 inches in diameter, 70 mph thunderstorm wind gusts and dangerous lightning.
Earlier this morning, the weather service confirmed multiple tornadoes in Hubbard County, including one that caused a half-mile "path of destruction" from Park Rapids northward in northwestern Minnesota.
This would include me and the tornadoes were around 15 miles from the city I live in.

Yeah, we had to break down and put the air conditioners in the windows, after doing without for at least 5 years now. I hate the fact that you have to either be hot or frozen. Ugh!

Actually, in recent years it has seemed that July was the hottest month and August has brought the beginning of a cool down at least in Minnesota. I know because of my birthday being in August, I always paid attention to the weather. It used to be the hottest month most of the time but it has seemed to be more like the very beginning of fall in more recent years in my opinion.

this week we hardly had the air on during the day.
It's beautiful getting up in the morning with cool breezes.
On Sunday afternoon we met with 3 other families at the beach for a picnic.
It was in the higher 70's and breezy. Not a sweltering heat like it usually is when we do this.
In fact before the sun was going down some of us had wrapped up in what
ever we could find to keep warm! :hh
We all had a good time though.

Wow! It's winter time at your house! It is about 75 here today, and very nice and breezy! It was in the 90's the past couple days, but the temperature is staying down this week. I think those two days were the last of summer we will see.

we just washed Buddy, the Golden Retriever.
He is getting his rabies shot this afternoon.
so he has to be clean for the vet you know!
It takes 3 of us to do this because he will get IN the shower,
:dog walkbut then he tries to back out from time to time!
so someone stands guard to push him back in! :hh
He was out getting dried in the sun after the bath so he will
smell like the fresh air I hope, instead of the shampoo.

A couple days ago it was 70 and beautiful. This morning it is 16 with a wind chill below zero! YUCK!!!
I am terribly worried about those puppies next door. There are only 4 left. Three have disappeared. Not sure how, but figure they are better off, no matter what. Chris heard the neighbors arguing or something last night, and then the man took the pups and stuck them in a little 5 by 5 or so shed and nailed a board over the front. The pups had been sleeping in the garage in a nice little corner Chris fixed for them with a blanket, so they weren't doing it to keep them warm, I doubt. Then the people left and the pups were barking and whining, of course. Well, they were making a horrible noise for a couple hours, and I sent Chris out to check on them. Three of them had dug out and gone in the garage, but the other one had gotten her head stuck between the board and the side of the shed somehow, and couldn't move! Chris had to rip the board off to free her! If he hadn't checked, she'd have frozen to death last night! I was so upset, and still am. I am so afraid of what they are going to do to them. :crng

Maybe you could report them to the police or something for animal cruelty?

Well, the problem with that is that in this small town, you can't do anything anonymously, and we have to live beside those people. And have heard that they are not very nice people to begin with. Also, our animal control is pathetic, and doesn't really care about the animals anyway. They'd just warn them, and then they'd do something awful with the pups. :shd

It is 26 with a wind chill around 0 and sunny today. Coldest day we've had yet. Supposed to be back in the 60's by the end of the week. Praise the Lord!
Those little wiggly puppies have been out running around as usual a few times today. They are staying in the garage mostly though, because it is so cold, and they are hounds and don't have thick coats. I wish I could take them all. I might end up taking them temporarily just to protect them. They will have to stay outside, of course, because there is no way we could train that many at once and there is no room inside. But we could make them up a nice cozy place in one of our buildings to sleep and stay when it is cold. I think our humane society charges you to take in an animal now, but I don't know how much. I'll have to find out.

They charge YOU for taking in an animal. Like to discourage people on purpose from helping the animals? For having the animal? or for intervening where an owner is neglectful?Where is PETA!? I don't know whether to laugh or be mad.
This is such a sad, sad situation. I hate when people are careless with their own pets. And then if you help somehow you will be subject for revenge. or charged?! pathetic. Now I'm mad :argy
I know it's hard to live next door to 'bad' neighbors. It's painful though to watch abuse. :crng

Weird!! It was 30 degrees about 45 minutes ago when I got up, and I had to bring in the cat water bowl and empty the ice off it and put more water in it. Now, it is very windy and 50 degrees! Not complaining or anything though, lol.
57 and sunny today! Love that for January! :prs
